In 2023, we:
💪 Pushed the boundaries of innovation
- Our new state-of-the-art UPS Velocity facility features smart automation, machine learning and A.I. to boost the unbeatable service that UPS is known for, linked to the heart and dedication of our people.
- We equipped our delivery drivers with new cooling sleeves and hats – developed in partnership with MISSION – bringing athletic innovations off the playing field and into our operations.
- Our gift guides made tailgating, getting cozy and holiday shopping a breeze with some of our favorite customers.
- Not to brag, but our trophy case is getting full. We bagged more than 70 awards for innovation, reliability and service. Some of our key accolades include:
- FT Magazine named UPS CEO Carol B. Tomé to its annual Woman of the Year list, recognizing the world’s most influential women. She was recognized for her steadfast, consistent leadership during the pandemic and her commitment to creating an inclusive, values-based culture.
- Driver Gragg Wilson became a legend when he drove home as the first UPS Grand Champion at the National Truck Driving Championships.
- Our first Jobs & Opportunity Report kicked the year off with a bang – sharing our commitment to our people with industry-leading wages and benefits, countless opportunities for growth and helping YOU be the best.
- Twin sisters Alyssa Strickland and Brittney Strickland-Varnedoe made history as the first Black women promoted to feeder on-road supervisors at UPS’s fourth largest facility in the world, the SMART Hub in our hometown ATL.
👓 Made a splash in Times Square
- The UPS Store created a fully animated billboard … in 3D … giving three small business owners a platform to reach millions of customers at one of the most iconic spots in the world.
📣 Honored our people for their safety and service
- Our trucks now feature personalized nameplates for drivers who’ve served for 10 years or more, and UPS Circle of Honor emblems celebrate drivers with at least 25 years of safe driving.
⚽ Took to the pitch with a new partnership
- We're proud to be the first official global logistics partner of Liverpool Football Club. LFC has one of the biggest fanbases in the Premier League, with more than a billion supporters all over the world.
- Whether it’s providing relief for humanitarian crises, shipping vaccines around the world or empowering local communities, The UPS Foundation was there.
♻ Moved toward our carbon neutral goals
- Our sustainability approach moved us toward our goal to be carbon neutral by 2050 and improving 1 billion lives by 2040. We’re committed to pursuing planet-friendly solutions while taking care of our employees and serving our customers and communities of today and tomorrow.
