Keynote Fireside Chat with Cally Baute

UPS Global Network Communications and Reputation Management President Malcolm Berkley joins Cally Baute, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Media Business, North America at POLITICO, to explore how companies stay top of mind for consumers, without wading into hot-button issues or cultural controversies. Ahead of the November election cycle, Malcolm and Cally discuss how companies are navigating political headwinds and setting the standard for effective governance.

Corporate Responsibility and Philanthropy

UPS President of Social Impact & The UPS Foundation Nikki Clifton, with fellow panelists CARE President and CEO Michelle Nunn and Atlanta Committee for Progress Executive Director Kathy Waller, will discuss the impact of public-private partnerships, examining how these collaborations can empower communities to tackle significant challenges and offer hope in times of need – both within organizations and beyond. They’ll explore the evolving role of corporations and NGOs in addressing societal challenges, highlighting the intersection of profit and purpose.

Driving Unity Today with the Leaders of Tomorrow

UPS Chief Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Darrell Ford introduces a panel discussion featuring a powerhouse of millennial and Gen Z leaders. These emerging voices, with their multicultural backgrounds and strong commitment to democratic values, share their perspectives on inclusive and socially conscious business practices. Panelists include Social Impact Leader Jacoria Borders, Political Consultant and Civic Engagement Influencer Haley Lickstein and Vice President of DEI Impact and Strategic Initiatives at the Atlanta Hawks Alexis Roe.

Volunteer Event and Networking Session

Sue Schmidlkofer, UPS’s Director of Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will share opening remarks, followed by a networking session and refreshments at Café 55. To kick off Hispanic Heritage Month, Crecer – UPS’s Hispanic/Latino Business Resource Group – hosts a volunteer event in partnership with Tahirih Justice Center, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting women from gender-based persecution. Volunteers will assemble hygiene kits to support women in need.

Chief Executive Officer, UPS

Carol is the 12th CEO in the 117-year history of the company. Sana Ali
Vice President, Customer First Strategy, UPS

Sana is responsible for developing market, competitive and customer insights that inform our go-to-market execution. She also serves as the Chief of Staff to our Chief Commercial Officer, playing a critical role in unifying efforts across Strategy, Marketing, Sales and our On Demand Business Units. Sana has been with UPS for seven years and held roles in International Marketing, Global Strategy and most recently our Commercial team.

Deisha Barnett
President of Global Communications, UPS

Deisha leads UPS’s enterprise-wide communications function including global media relations and reputation management, editorial strategy, digital communications, social media, creative services, HR/operations communications, executive communications and sustainability communications strategy. Her role brings together all facets of communications at UPS to strengthen storytelling as we protect and promote our brand around the globe.

Cally Baute
Executive Vice President and General Manager, Media Business, North America, POLITICO

Cally has been a strategic partner helping brands navigate some of the most challenging political environments since joining POLITICO in 2011. In her current role, she manages the full business, including revenue, product, strategy, operations, fulfillment and enterprise partnerships. Over the past 10 years, Cally has evolved POLITICO’s client offerings to include best-in-class engagements in the corporate reputation and advocacy industries.

Malcolm Berkley
President of Global Network Communications and Reputation Management, UPS

Malcolm leads integration, alignment and operations across UPS’s global communications team, and storytelling and issues management that help drive UPS’s reputation and brand relevance. Throughout his UPS career, Berkley has held strategic communications positions of increasing responsibility in public relations, employee communications, public affairs, UPS Airlines and The UPS Foundation. His responsibilities have included serving as a primary spokesperson and leading the company’s public relations efforts targeting priority industries such as healthcare, retail and small business.

Jacoria Borders
Social Impact Leader

Jacoria is a Social Impact Leader with a decade of experience in the nonprofit, political, government, philanthropic, and sports and entertainment industries. she is the visionary founder of The Community Group, a Social Impact Agency established in 2019, and TCG Impact, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to inspiring and equipping the next generation of leaders through civic celebrations, career connections and scholarships. Before her entrepreneurial endeavors, Jacoria spearheaded the $10M Democracy Program, civic engagement strategies and social justice initiatives across the Blank Family of Businesses.

Nikki Clifton
President of Social Impact and The UPS Foundation, UPS

Nikki oversees The UPS Foundation’s work delivering health and humanitarian aid, eliminating systemic barriers to economic opportunity, building local capacity and advancing sustainability around the world. Nikki leverages the company’s partnerships and logistical acumen to respond to the world’s most pressing social, humanitarian and environmental needs, as well as coordinating the company’s anti-human trafficking awareness and advocacy initiatives to create the largest training initiative in the private logistics industry.

Darrell Ford
Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, UPS

Darell oversees HR functions for UPS’s ~ 500,000 global workforce and leads the company’s efforts to advance DEI internally and externally, through innovative career development initiatives and an unwavering commitment to diverse suppliers, businesses and communities. With a focus on reproductive justice and women's health, Haley partners with national advocacy organizations and health professionals to help amplify their work and educate her audience.

Michelle Nunn
President and CEO, CARE

Michelle leads more than 8,000 people working in more than 100 countries to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. In her nine years at the helm, CARE has taken its fundraising and impact to new levels, reaching more than 167 million people in 2023. She co-founded the volunteer-mobilization nonprofit Hands On Atlanta, led its 2007 merger with President George H.W. Bush’s Points of Light, and was Points of Light CEO for six years.

Alexis Roe
Vice President, DEI Impact and Strategic Initiatives, Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena

Alexis actively champions inclusion initiatives to facilitate building a fair, brave, and safe space within the workforce and in local communities. She supports the planning of sustainable and continual programs to ensure the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena are showing up consistently and authentically for communities. Roe continually empowers people to shift their perspective and encourages courageous conversations to lead to a more understanding world.

Sue Schmidlkofer
Director of Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, UPS

Sue oversees the global DEI strategy centered around the mission statement, ‘You Belong At UPS.’ Driving an inclusive culture, supporting 200+ Business Resource Group chapters, talent development and mentoring leaders are her key areas of focus. Throughout her 30-year career at UPS, Sue has held a variety of roles primarily within Human Resources.

Kathy Waller
Executive Director, Atlanta Committee for Progress

Kathy provides her expertise on the key issues important to economic growth and inclusion for all citizens in the City of Atlanta. Waller has over 35 years of broad financial and operational leadership experience within the consumer and retail sectors. Kathy retired in March 2019 after 32 years with The Coca-Cola Company where she was the Chief Financial Officer and President, Enabling Services. In these roles, Waller led the company’s global finance, technical and shared services organizations, and represented the company to investors, lenders and rating agencies.

Vanessa Wilkins
Executive Director, Tahirih Justice Center

Vanessa leads a team dedicated to providing client-centered legal and social services to immigrant women and girls fleeing violence. She also leads efforts in community outreach and building partnerships. Wilkins has worked within the non-profit field for over 18 years. In February 2015, Vanessa was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Commission of Family Violence where she served for three years. She has chaired the Development Committee on the board of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence and currently serves on the Executive Committee. Vanessa received a Pinnacle Leadership award in 2017 for outstanding community leadership and was recognized with a Phenomenal Woman award in 2021.
