Hey, fashionistas: This New York Fashion Week, we’ve unveiled new merch in partnership with small business owner and proud Norfolk State University alumna, Ashley Jones of Tones of Melanin.
“Designing this capsule line for UPS’s Be Unstoppable campaign allowed me to focus on empowerment, resilience and the idea of breaking barriers, which is the essence of my brand. I’m proud that I’m able to bring visibility for Historically Black Colleges and Universities at New York Fashion Week,” said Ashley Jones, creative director and CEO of Tones of Melanin.
Ashley is also a part of UPS Ignite – a program providing access to the resources and tools diverse entrepreneurs need to help grow their business. The world is truly Ashley’s runway! 🙌🏿
Oh, and did we mention? We’re proud to share that our employee base includes alumni and current students from more than 91 HBCUs across the country. Yes, nine-one!
“I couldn't be more excited to spread the word about this connection between my employer and my university, Norfolk State (NSU),” said Crystal Lassiter, vice president of corporate buildings and systems engineering at UPS. “As we say at NSU, in celebration of our school traditions and colors – ‘Behold, the green and gold!’”
Go ahead and tap in: All proceeds from the UPS x Tones of Melanin 107 Capsule Collection will go to Clark Atlanta University to fund scholarships for the Department of Art and Fashion. Shop ‘til you drop and grab yours here . 😉#HBCULove
