UPS’s Proudly Unstoppable goes global

Initiative helps women-owned small businesses grow and thrive

What’s new: UPS’s Proudly Unstoppable initiative is making stops in Canada, China, and Germany. Launched last year to support diverse-owned SMBs disproportionately hard hit by the pandemic, the latest expansion is designed to empower women-owned small businesses around the world.

  • Specially designed, limited edition UPS Express Boxes feature the artwork of three female artists from Canada, China and Germany.
  • UPS is shining a global spotlight on women-owned small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) on the Proudly Unstoppable landing page.
  • UPS has partnered with WeConnect International, an organization that provides financial assistance to women-owned small businesses. Through this partnership, UPS will award 10 grants in each country to women-owned small businesses in the month of March.

Since 2018, 17,000 female and small business owners connected to the global economy through UPS’s Women Exporters Program.

Why it matters: According to, financial exclusion poses a great challenge for women entrepreneurs as they try to access capital to start, operate or expand their businesses. Through efforts like Proudly Unstoppable, UPS continues to help women with access to resources to grow their businesses and thrive.

What they’re saying: “The UPS Proudly Unstoppable campaign strives to make a tangible impact by shining a spotlight on minority-owned SMBs,” said Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Warren. “It’s focused on how we can help these small customers punch above their weight and compete with the large ones.”

About the artists and designs: Each artist was provided information to help them depict what happens when women support and lift each other up.

Canada: Artist Marian Bantjes

“Women of the World Unite” depicts a pattern of women holding hands to show connected groups celebrating community and lifting each other up.

China: Artist Chen Peng

“Hand in Hand Shoulder to Shoulder” shows the important role of Chinese women in society by depicting small business owners in different professions helping and supporting other each other.

Germany: Artist Dani Pollehn

In “The Power Lies,” the hero is confident and charismatic, wearing a vibrant coat that embodies her success. She celebrates everyone who helped her get to the top.

  • The UPS Ignite program has strengthened 140 women-owned and diverse businesses through education, resources, networking and $100K in grants in 2022.
  • Last year, the UPS Women Exporters Program trained and coached 2,200 women on integrating their small businesses into the global economy.
