Stirring up excitement about hydration is no easy feat, but O'Shea Squalls, a UPS driver in Dallas, has found a unique way to do just that. He shows up every day to share a message centered on safety during hot weather – hint: it starts with H and ends in 2O.
The importance of hydration: A message that’s clear as a glass of water
"Staying hydrated starts at home. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate," says O’Shea. “The reason why we put so much emphasis on hydration is that we want to send all employees back home safely.”
His message reinforces that hydration starts with making it personal; it's a lifestyle choice that begins the moment you wake up.

Rock and roll rehydration
O’Shea uses a mix of old school and new music to set the tone for a positive, safety-focused shift. He shares safety messages while letting the music promote good vibes and conversations. His approach proves that simple actions can build trust and have the most significant impact.
O’Shea recognizes the powerful role that engagement plays in getting people to take action. "It’s not just one set of music I’m playing,” he shared, noting the diversity of his group, “Playing a variety of tracks helps everyone connect with our safety message.”
This way, he effectively uses inclusivity to make sure his hydration and safety messages resonate with everyone.
