This story celebrates People Powering Growth – UPSers around the world who are helping our business grow by putting customers first, leading with our values and driving innovation

Beyond building equipment like tractors and excavators, John Deere supplies the parts that keep machines running. As with most manufacturing and industrial businesses, John Deere and its customers rely on timely delivery.

That’s where UPSers come in.

UPS people around the world help John Deere by supporting manufacturing operations and the delivery of critical parts to customers in the field.

Our relationship with John Deere spans more than four decades. Beyond supporting global inbound and outbound shipments of parts, we work closely with Deere to share insight and ideas that help them navigate complexity, respond to seasonal spikes and stay flexible when conditions change.

“What’s made this relationship work for so long is how closely our teams work together,” said Angie Bellafiore, UPS director of strategic accounts. From factory floors to farmers’ fields, UPS delivers for John Deere and its customersUPSers understand John Deere’s business, their seasons and what’s at stake for their customers, and that shared understanding shapes how we show up every day.”

Every UPSer plays a role in growing our business: “We make complex logistics look easy,” Angie continued, “It takes collaboration across UPS to deliver for customers like John Deere - bringing together expertise from across our business to solve challenges and drive results.

From everyday operations to time‑critical moments, UPSers bring together multiple logistics capabilities to support John Deere’s manufacturing operations and customer needs.

  • Small package: Moves essential parts to support both equipment production and customers in the field when timing matters.
  • Air freight/expedited services: Supports time‑critical shipments during peak seasons to help avoid disruptions to production and service.
  • Supply Chain Solutions (SCS): Provides operational support and coordination that helps manage complexity and keep parts flowing.
  • International logistics: Supports cross‑border movement of parts in key regions, adapting to John Deere’s operational needs.
  • Freight forwarding: Manages select international parts movements where reliability and timing are important.
  • Customs brokerage: Supports clearance of certain shipments to help keep international parts moving efficiently.

For UPS, that confidence is built by people who understand their customers’ businesses and show up when timing means everything. It’s how we turn logistics into a competitive advantage and help our customers grow.

The cherry on top: This year, we’re proud to have earned Partner‑level status – the highest supplier rating – in John Deere’s Achieving Excellence program. Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, delivery, process alignments, value creation and relationship.

“John Deere’s recognition speaks to how UPS works at its best,” said UPS President of Strategic Accounts Sales Jim Katsafanas. “It’s the result of experienced leadership, strong collaboration and UPSers who understand the impact of their work on customers’ businesses every day.”
