Something felt wrong: While making a delivery, Iowa UPS driver Colin Mitchell heard a commotion and looked over to see two dogs swimming in an above-ground pool. After trying to notify the owners, Jeff and Rebecca Marra, with no answer, Colin decided to act.

A ruff rescue: Colin made his way onto the deck and pulled the smaller of the two dogs, Groot, out first. Then he waded in to save the 90-pound Remy with a bit more effort.

The next day he checked on the dogs. Rebecca shared no one would have been home that day for at least another three hours.

“It would have been easy for Colin to say it’s not his concern and continue his day,” Jeff said. “But our driver did show concern and that means a lot. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have our dogs. We are very grateful.”

The Marras shared when they first welcomed Groot and Remy to their family, both dogs were rescues. Thanks to one UPSer’s observant nature, they are rescues once again.

Paws up: Colin is a dog owner himself and hopes someone who came across Berkley in need would help her.

“It was a pretty easy decision, and I hope most people would have done the same,” he said.
