What’s new: UPS is purchasing eight new 767-300ER freighters from Boeing. With this order, and UPS’s order for 19 767 freighters in December 2021, we will operate a total of 108 767 freighters within our global network. The fleet additions are a critical part of our customer-first strategy and will help UPS continue to deliver what matters for our customers well into the future.

Why it matters: These aircraft will help meet demand in high-growth areas like healthcare, small business and international markets and help us continue to provide outstanding service to our air express customers. The aircraft is the most versatile in our fleet, connecting our customers with both U.S. domestic and international markets.

“The first of the new aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2025 and give us flexibility within our fleet to meet future customer demand. The 767 offers an excellent combination of payload and range for our customers,” said UPS Airlines President Jim Joseph. “The new aircraft also will help modernize our fleet while improving our efficiency, sustainability and reliability.”

UPS was the launch customer for the freighter version of the 767 in 1995 and today operates 80 of them. Our long-standing experience with these aircraft will help us integrate the new aircraft into our network.
