When disaster strikes, we lean into what we do best: our unmatched transportation and logistics capabilities. We use our planes, trucks and people to deliver essential supplies like generators, water, food and healthcare products where it’s needed most.
Before a storm hits, we position essential supplies near high-risk areas, allowing us to quickly mobilize and provide aid. And immediately after, we step in to help people recover by donating our services and equipment, funding grants for non-profits, and sending our employees to volunteer.
In the face of crisis, logistics saves lives. Since the start of hurricane season, The UPS Foundation has supported relief and recovery efforts by:
🚚 Delivering essential supplies like water, meal kits, solar panels and recovery tools before Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton made landfall, to ensure that vital resources reached both residents and first responders during the critical early stages of recovery. We have since transported over 50 truckloads of relief supplies to impacted communities across Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas.
🤝 Allocating over $1 million for relief efforts and partnering with SBP, the American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army to fund emergency shelter and recovery resources for communities, including those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
💵 Contributing $292,000 to CARE to provide up to $1,000 in cash assistance to affected families.
🩺 Donating $25,000 to MedShare to supply local clinics with free medical supplies.
🤎 Contributing $25,000 to Caring for Others, Inc. to support impacted families in Augusta, GA and Nashville, GA.
And I'm so proud to share that our approach to humanitarian aid goes far beyond the dollar – UPS volunteers are on the ground when disasters strike, distributing aid to communities in need. Our bottom line is simple: Whenever natural disasters occur, UPS will be present to support resiliency efforts as communities recover and rebuild.
How UPS employees can help: Beyond rolling up your sleeves to volunteer, you can donate through our internal giving platform, UPS Community Connections and The UPS Foundation will match donations up to $1,000. Your generosity can help rebuild lives. Together, we can make a difference.
