Hello, and Happy Founders’ Day!
Today, I’ve been reflecting on what makes UPS such an extraordinary company, and I keep coming back to five reasons I’m proud to be part of this remarkable legacy.
First, we have built a legacy of trust. For more than 119 years, UPS has earned its reputation by keeping promises and delivering with consistency, reliability and excellence. Jim Casey once said, “Service is the sum of many little things done right.”Every day, you bring those words to life through the countless actions that ensure we deliver for our customers.
Second, it’s our people. UPS is, and always will be, People Led. Our culture is grounded in trust, responsibility, excellence and integrity. Across the globe, hundreds of thousands of UPSers show up each day with a shared commitment to serve customers, support one another and strengthen the communities where we live and work. The heart of UPS has always been its people.
Third, innovation is woven into our DNA. From pioneering new technologies decades ago to harnessing AI-powered logistics and advanced network optimization today, UPS continues to redefine what’s possible. We never stand still. We continuously evolve, finding smarter ways to connect the world and create greater value for our customers, employees and shareholders.
Fourth, we are relentlessly customer-focused. We do far more than deliver packages. We solve complex challenges, simplify supply chains and help businesses of every size unlock growth. Every solution we create begins with a simple question: How can we make it easier for our customers to succeed?
And finally, we are driven by a purpose that is bigger than delivery. Our purpose – “Moving our world forward by delivering what matters” – is about more than moving goods. It’s about creating opportunities, strengthening communities, responding in moments of need and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Of course, there is so much more to love about UPS. On Founders’ Day, I want to recognize our founders – especially Jim Casey – whose vision, values and entrepreneurial spirit created the foundation for everything we are today. And most importantly, I want to thank you. Because the story of UPS is not just our history – it is the story you continue to write every day through your dedication, service and commitment to excellence.
