In Dublin, UPS has found a clever and sustainable way to deliver packages in the most congested areas of the city.
Delivery drivers wearing bike helmets and cruising the city streets on electrically-assisted cargo tricycles (e-bikes) can often be spotted around the city center. It has become an essential way for UPS to get packages to customers during busy times when the city fills up with cars, buses, and tourists, slowing delivery times for the traditional package car. The e-bike is the perfect solution.
UPS has also been using mini eco-package hubs, or mobile distribution centers, that can be easily wheeled in to near the center of the city so packages can quickly be delivered by e-bike or foot.
These e-bikes and mini hubs definitely draw attention from curious customers and tourists.
