It’s a big week – we’re closing out Black History Month with a major achievement! Nearly a year ahead of our commitment, UPS employees helped The UPS Foundation reach our goal of logging 1 million volunteer hours in support of underserved Black communities. Yes, one M-I-L-L-I-O-N!
Moving our world forward: "At UPS, we’re driven by an unwavering commitment to our values,” said Nikki Clifton, President, Social Impact and The UPS Foundation. “Our values guide how we proudly provide best-in-class service to millions of customers, how we take care of our people and how we bring hope and help to communities around the world.”
Doing our part: In 2020, we pledged 1 million volunteer hours in support of justice, reform and equality for Black Americans. In addition to committing volunteer hours, UPS supported legislation like the Federal Antilynching Act and state-based hate crime bills and committed substantial financial support to organizations and causes that uplift the Black community.
UPS employees are committed to making a difference in the communities where they live and work:
- Over decades of consistent engagement, The UPS Foundation has donated almost $85 million to organizations focused on uplifting underfunded Black causes.
- We’re inspired by the efforts of our BRG chapters across the U.S. that made an incredible impact in driving enthusiasm around reaching our shared goal. Together, they gave back to organizations like House of Artists Foundation, Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Crossroads Tigers Youth Athletics and more.
- More than 1,600 volunteer opportunities were created by UPS employees since 2022.
