Lornna Ruble paves the way for women in leadership

There are no limits to what you can accomplish at UPS – just ask Lornna Ruble. Today, she’s leading the way as the director of aircraft maintenance at UPS Worldport, and the largest sorting facility in the world.

“When I started, you could almost count the number of women in leadership roles,” Lornna said. “I’ve seen great progress for women at UPS, especially taking on higher positions. I think the change has been pretty amazing."

Take the lead: Originally from Puerto Rico, Lornna started her UPS career in 2007. After various roles in Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering, she’s continued to soar with bigger job responsibilities, earning her most recent role two years ago.

Lornna says she is proud to work for a company that cares about workforce diversity. She’s also grateful to serve as an example, showing others what they can accomplish if they follow their passion.

"It’s very important to teach the younger generation that they can do whatever they want to do," Lornna said. “Take every opportunity that’s presented to you, because all the sacrifices made today will pay off tomorrow."

Pay it forward: Lornna shares her perspective and story through organizations like the Association for Women in Aviation MaintenanceWomen in Aviation International and UPS’s Hispanic/Latino Business Resource Group, CrecerFor Lornna and so many others at UPS, the sky’s the limit.
