Lindsay Cordova didn’t start working at UPS to be a media spokesperson. And she didn’t plan on leading a world-class safe driving training facility. But there she was … doing a live interview on the Cheddar News “Closing Bell” show, talking about how the global logistics giant builds people up and puts the safest drivers on the road.

A place to grow: At 20-years-old, Lindsay took a part-time job at UPS for the free insurance and other benefits that few other companies offer, even with full-time positions. She wasn’t thinking about the long-term; but more than 20 years later and now a UPS Integrad training site manager in Texas, she’s discovered that UPS is so much more than the brown trucks you see on the street.

“I never studied business in my undergrad, but as I was promoted, I’ve been taught how to manage and train people, create culture, and so much more,” Lindsay said.

She’s responsible for running one of 11 Integrad facilities where UPS drivers attend industry-leading safety training. As a former driver herself, Lindsay understands firsthand what a day of being on the road is really like – and the benefits of a long career. That’s why she’s so passionate about quality training and sharing her story.

“I work at UPS because I love what I do, and I’ve built so much here,” Lindsay said. “I have a pension, vacation weeks, amazing insurance, job security and a 22-year legacy that I’m proud of.”

Did you know? U.S. operations employees received five million hours of safety training in 2022 through facilities like Integrad and others – that’s 27% of the total time our employees spend on training.

And UPS has a network of more than 200 safety professionals dedicated to protecting the health and safety of the company’s workforce and spends more than $343 million in safety training annually.
