Emmanuel Wameni grew up in Cameroon, Africa. With the dream of continuing his education, he made the hard decision to leave his family and friends to come to America.

Arriving in Landover, Maryland, he spotted UPS’ iconic brown delivery lorries right across the street from his first job. With this chance sighting, he discovered a career that could fuel his passion. See how Emmanuel and UPS became a dream match:

‘I came to America so that I could provide for my family back in Africa‘, Emmanuel said. ‘UPS has helped me make good money and has given me the opportunity for a better life.’

Emmanuel is grateful to UPS for giving him an opportunity to grow as well as help pay for his education. UPS’ part-time tuition reimbursement programme Earn & Learn offers up to $25,000 for college tuition and expenses, and most part-time employees are eligible for this programme from the day they are hired. UPS invested $30 million in education assistance programmes in 2021 alone.
