  • UPS expanded service in 57 countries including Brazil, Pakistan and South Korea
  • 5 new countries received Express service including Bangladesh and Madagascar
  • Guaranteed delivery in 1-3 business days by 10:30 a.m., noon, or 2 p.m., depending on the destination

UPS (NYSE: UPS) has expanded its Worldwide Express™ package service to reach 124 countries and territories, providing an earlier delivery option for customers to more locations. UPS delivers more packages internationally than any other carrier.

The UPS Worldwide Express service offers guaranteed delivery on the next business day by 10:30 a.m., noon, or 2 p.m., depending on the destination. In 2017, UPS added Express service to new 7,000 postal codes in 57 countries and territories.

“Our international value proposition is to offer a powerful global network and portfolio that connects buyers and sellers through seamless cross-border movements,” said Jim Barber, UPS International President. “With the latest expansion of Worldwide Express, we are making this connection in 124 countries, which comprise nearly 95% of the global gross domestic product, and 96% of real imports.”

“This latest Worldwide Express service expansion enables UPS to provide greater flexibility and accessibility to new markets for customers in China seeking a global presence,” said Harld Peters, President of UPS in China. “The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and supply-side structural reforms aimed at opening up China’s economy will provide Chinese manufacturers with even greater opportunities for cross-border trade. Together with recent network and capacity enhancements, UPS is in a strong position to help Chinese manufacturers bring their products to markets quicker, speed up bilateral trade engagement with burgeoning markets for fast-growing and long-term sustainable business success.”

Companies in the retail, high-tech, industrial manufacturing and healthcare industries, along with consumers, use the service for urgent global shipments.

World Trade Organization economists predict continued trade growth in 2018 after stronger-than-expected growth in 2017. The UPS Worldwide Express service helps facilitate this growth by giving customers more options for important deliveries.

Brazil is the 8th largest economy in the world, and according to the World Bank, generated more than $217 billion in exports and $150 billion in imports. Industrial manufacturing and automotive customers depend on UPS Worldwide Express service for critical parts used in production lines.

Textiles and apparel make up 57% of Pakistan’s exports, and about 9.5% of the country’s GDP.  Additionally, the pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan is experiencing rapid growth, with exports expected to increase from $200 million to $5 billion in the next decade. Customers in these industries using the Express service will process orders faster than before.

As South Korea continues to lead the way in the auto electronics market1, the Express expansion will afford automotive aftermarket manufacturers and distributers located in major industrial areas like Gyeonggi-do and Gyeongsangnam-do a competitive edge, by connecting them more quickly to other partners across the supply chain.

Customers in Europe will benefit from faster shipping time to growth economies in Asia and Latin America. UPS is committed to investing $2 billion in its European network by 2019, and this investment has already made UPS faster on more than 350 city pairs between 28 European countries.

UPS Worldwide Express is part of the broader UPS Express portfolio, which offers the most international guaranteed time-of-day delivery options that include routine customs clearance.

The UPS Express portfolio features:

  • UPS Express Plus for morning delivery to 56 countries
  • UPS Express for midday delivery to 124 countries and territories
  • UPS Express Saver for end-of-day delivery to 220 countries and territories
