Meet Cephalofair Games – a crowdfunded board game company with a global fan base. Their team creates and distributes top-rated games, including the wildly successful Gloomhaven and Frosthaven. If you are a fan of epic strategy gaming, this story is for you.

The adventure begins: When Cephalofair Games created Frosthaven, it was an unprecedented release for a lot of reasons. The box had more content, more pieces and more story than just about any other board game around. And it was heavy – over 30 pounds. Getting the breakout hit into the hands of gamers around the world needed the right shipping partner. That is why they chose UPS.

A large-scale fulfilment project: Our global infrastructure and expertise meant that we were the right partner to manage the entire process – from ocean freight to final-mile delivery and powered by Ware2Go’s on-demand fulfilment and warehousing.

To deliver on their promise to over 83,000 backers, Cephalofair worked with us to get over 100 shipping containers on the water and deliver 62,000 game boxes to eager fans around the world.

‘This is really going to provide us the ability to flex our muscles on the next project and not have to worry about what our logistical infrastructure looks like’, said Price Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Cephalofair Games. ‘This is really going to open up doors for us as a publisher.’

Go behind the scenes on our partnership with Cephalofair and see how we get a 30-pound behemoth of a game to its fans:

‘Being connected to the UPS network lets us tap into resources that customers like Cephalofair Games wouldn't otherwise have access to’, said Charles Robertson, manager of supply chain execution at Ware2Go. ‘We can manage their end-to-end supply chain so they can focus on making the best product possible.’
