Artist Stevie Shao illustrates her Asian American heritage
Exclusive artwork for UPS Express boxes celebrates AAPI-owned small businesses
Meet the artist: Stevie Shao is a Seattle born and raised second generation Chinese-American artist, illustrator and muralist. Her colorful and patterned illustrations draw inspiration from her Chinese heritage and she takes pride in sharing it with the world.
‘I am proud to represent my roots in this partnership and show that with determination, our community can thrive’, Stevie said.
About the artwork: Stevie included bamboo in the background of the artwork as a symbol of persistence and growth in the face of change. In addition, tigers are a symbol of strength that wards off evil, while butterflies represent growth and transformation.
Our support runs deep: Proudly Unstoppable is a campaign designed to amplify and uplift diverse small businesses and the communities they serve.
ICYMI: In 2022, The UPS Foundation invested nearly $1.5 million to advance initiatives supporting the AAPI community globally, including organisations like the International Justice Mission, India SME Forum and Asian Americans Advancing Justice. And there is much more we are proud of:
- Since launching the Women’s Exporters Programme, we have equipped small businesses across the Asia-Pacific region with the skills to grow and develop their companies’ export capabilities.
- Our employee-led Asian Business Resource Group (ABRG) includes nearly 900 active members across seven international chapters.
