In Dublin, UPS has found a clever and sustainable way to deliver parcels in the most congested areas of the city.
Delivery drivers wearing bike helmets and cruising the city streets on electrically-assisted cargo tricycles (e-bikes) can often be spotted around the city centre. It has become an essential way for UPS to get parcels to customers during busy times when the city fills up with cars, buses and tourists, slowing delivery times for the traditional delivery van. The e-bike is the perfect solution.
UPS has also been using mini eco-parcel hubs, or mobile distribution centres, that can be easily wheeled in to near the centre of the city so parcels can quickly be delivered by e-bike or foot.
These e-bikes and mini hubs definitely draw attention from curious customers and tourists.
