Enriching lives: The Jim Casey Community Service Award is UPS’ highest community service honour, recognising UPSers who embrace our long legacy of volunteerism and giving back.

Today, we celebrate Greg Schneider, a UPSer with 33 years of safe driving and CEO/founder of Operation Ramp It Up, a non-profit focused on providing much needed freedom, independence and accessibility for people with mobility issues.

Watch Greg’s touching story:

Milestone moment: With the completion of Operation Ramp It Up’s latest ramp for 4-year-old Jack Welfl, the organisation has now installed more than 240 wheelchair ramps across all 50 U.S. states.

Humble beginnings: '(I have) been with UPS for a lot of years, and it has been very good for my family and myself', Greg said. ‘And I just wanted to give back to the community, so I started volunteering with different non-profits. (I) had an opportunity to build a ramp for a veteran’s spouse at the time. 'We get to the house and she is just looking out the window, she cannot get out of the house … within two hours we had a ramp built.'

Congratulations to Greg and all the Jim Casey Community Service Award finalists making a difference in their communities!
