What’s the story: Just before the 2022 Kentucky Derby, UPS donated $10,000 to the Backside Learning Center at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The funds will be used for educational and summer programs for children in the Louisville area.

Why it matters: Funding organizations like the Backside Learning Center (BLC) reinforces The UPS Foundation’s commitment to creating equity through economic empowerment.

The BLC serves a community of more than 1,000 racetrack workers and their families – many of them immigrants from Central America and Mexico.
