UPS launches new Express service expansion, celebrates 30 years of business in Russian regions

UPS (NYSE:UPS), a global leader in logistics, announced today it is expanding its express service options within Russia, following its recent 30 year anniversary in the country. The new service option of UPS Express Plus® is now available in the high business density areas of Moscow and St. Petersburg for all Russian origin cities from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

By expanding our domestic express services, we offer a wider range of options to meet customers’ needs so businesses can continue to capitalize on Russia’s economic growth” he added.

UPS has expanded its Domestic UPS Express® service, offering deliveries by 12:00 and 14:00 to nearly 900 postal codes in 44 regional centers in Russia. This allows Russian businesses of all sizes to take advantage of UPS’s reliable network to reach their customers almost anywhere in the country. The UPS Domestic Express portfolio now includes three timing options to suit customers’ needs:

  • UPS Express Plus® by 10:00 in Moscow and St. Petersburg
  • UPS Express® by 12:00 or 14:00
  • UPS Express Saver® by the end of the business day

E-commerce in the Russian Federation is predicted to grow to $52 billion by 2023, while the Russian express delivery market will grow 12% to 15% in the next three years, according to Morgan Stanley and NeoAnalytic research.

Since entering the Russian market in 1989, UPS has continuously enhanced its smart global logistics network. In addition to expanding domestic express delivery options, UPS has extended pick up times for domestic and international outbound services in St. Petersburg. It has also reduced transit-times from Moscow to Kazan, Novorossiysk, Omsk, Krasnodar, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Samara, as well as for shipments between Novosibirsk and Omsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, and Novokuznetsk in Siberia. The company currently has 15 operating facilities in the country. It connects businesses of all sizes through its air gateways at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport, Pulkovo Airport in St.Petersburg and Vladivostok International Airport, formerly known as Knevichi Airport.
