What’s the story: UPS and the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE) have officially unveiled the UPS Logistics Launchpad – a logistics hub for Black entrepreneurs that provides them with the resources to launch, scale and grow their businesses.

RICE is a business incubator in Atlanta that offers educational, networking, mentoring and capital resources to help its community of Black entrepreneurs and small business owners innovate, grow, create jobs and build wealth.

“We have amazing corporations that call Atlanta home, and the inspiration they can have on the average person who has a dream is powerful,” says Jay Bailey, CEO of RICE. “We want to harness that inspiration through companies like UPS. We’re providing access to the entrepreneur and small business owner who never dreamed they would ever have that level of access.”

In their own words: Learn how this partnership will help Black entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses:

About the UPS Logistics Launchpad: The Logistics Launchpad is part of a $1.25 million investment from UPS and The UPS Foundation to help elevate underrepresented founders and the businesses they lead.

The 2,000-square-foot, stand-alone facility will service entrepreneurs with a dedicated location of The UPS Store, as well as a warehouse and fulfillment operation powered by Ware2Go – a UPS company.

In addition to the Logistics Launchpad, UPS supply chain and logistics experts are on-hand to share their expertise as part of the RICE Supply Chain Accelerator program.

Why it matters: UPS is committed to elevating and leveling the playing field for diverse-owned businesses. Diversity, equity and inclusion are central to our business strategy, and we believe our intentional focus on uplifting diverse-owned small businesses leads better outcomes throughout our business.
