UPS (NYSE:UPS) today reinforced its commitment to customers in Taiwan with the launch of its latest solution designed to make the country’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more globally competitive.
UPS’s eFulfillment program gives online retailers in Taiwan easy access to over 200 million customers in the U.S. and Canada by enabling convenient management of sales across multiple marketplaces, and customizable delivery times through a single platform that handles storage, order processing, packaging and shipping.
“Small- and medium-sized enterprises account for almost 98% of all companies in Taiwan; they employ 9 million people and form the backbone of the Taiwanese economy1,” said UPS Taiwan Managing Director, Sam Hung.
“We understand that, for the owners of these businesses, time is particularly valuable, and tasks such as listing, storing, packing, shipping and tracking items can take the focus away from other important things like products, customer service and business growth. Registering for eFulfillment allows them to transfer all that heavy lifting to UPS, freeing up more time to focus on what matters most to them.”
efulfillment supports purchases and orders from 21 different marketplaces and web stores, such as eBay, Wal-Mart, Etsy and Amazon, including Prime. It is the latest in a number of services and solutions introduced by UPS in Taiwan to provide SMEs more configured logistics solutions, later pick-up cut-off times, shorter transit times, and more flexible delivery options that will give them more opportunities to grow their business.
In addition to the launch of eFulfillment, UPS has recently enhanced its offering throughout Taiwan by:
- Introducing UPS My Choice, which provides much more flexibility and control over how small businesses and consumers receive their shipments, improving the experience of both UPS’s customers and its customers’ customers.
- Offering alternative delivery locations at easy-to-access sites such as Palmbox and Chunghwa Post’s iBox e-lockers, providing recipients with greater flexibility in how and where they pick up shipments.
- Launching Saturday pick-up in the U.S., enabling U.S. imports to be processed on Sunday and delivered in Taiwan one day faster than before.
- Rolling out a range of service enhancements that give businesses more flexibility in how they ship out and receive products.
- Reduced transit times for export shipments to Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific by up to two days
- Extended cut-off times by up to one hour in the high-tech and manufacturing hubs of Taoyuan and Chiayi, giving businesses more time and flexibility to meet shipment demands
- Expanded UPS Worldwide Express service to 380 postal codes across Taiwan
According to the UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper study, shopping on marketplaces is almost universal. More than 96% percent of U.S. online shoppers report making a purchase at a marketplace. The study also shows that customers are demanding greater control than ever over how they receive their deliveries.
With this in mind, smart sellers try to sell on as many marketplaces as possible, and with the most configurable delivery options possible, to access the widest swath of potential customers.
