Enhancements to UPS service across Russia include expansion of express services, reduced time-in-transit, and deliveries to all postal codes
UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced its largest ever service expansion in Russia since first entering the market in 1989. The company now offers more express service options to nearly 600 postal codes in all major metropolitan areas and, as of July 1, will offer deliveries to all postal codes in the country.
“According to a report by Morgan Stanley, e-commerce sales in Russia are expected to grow 170% by 2023. With this growth, businesses need confidence that their customers will receive their orders on time. This can be a challenge in Russia, a country that sits on two continents and spans 11 time zones,” said Pavel Adamovsky, country manager, UPS Russia and Belarus. “This service expansion underlines UPS’s commitment to its Russian customers. Increasing and enhancing our service coverage in Russia offers businesses better access to UPS’s smart global logistics network, which carries 3% of the world’s GDP every day.”
UPS now offers two express options for next business day delivery to the following metropolitan areas: Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Perm, St. Petersburg and Ufa.
- UPS Express® by 12:00 or 14:00; and
- UPS Express Saver®, where deliveries are made by the end of the business day.
In addition to expanding express delivery options, UPS is also enhancing services across the country. As of July 1, UPS will offer deliveries to all postal codes in the Russian Federation with UPS Express Saver. Businesses of all sizes can now take advantage of the reliability of UPS’s network to reach their customers no matter where they are in the country. The company now also offers reduced time-in-transit from Moscow to Kazan, Novorossiysk, Omsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Samara. In Siberia, shipments between Novosibirsk and Omsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, and Novokuznetsk are getting faster as well. Customers in the region in the industrial manufacturing, retail, and high-tech sectors shipping with UPS will now benefit from shipping times of as little as one day, offering more flexibility and control over their supply chains.
The recent enhancements to UPS’s service are part of the company’s $2 billion investment in its European network and infrastructure through 2019. Recent investments as part of this program include a previously announced facility in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, the opening of two large hubs London and Paris, as well as a new operational facility at Vnukovo Airport that opened in 2015.
UPS has been operating in Russia since 1989. The company currently has 15 operating facilities in the country, and connects businesses of all sizes to UPS’s smart global logistics network through its air gateway at Vnukovo Airport.
