UPS (NYSE:UPS) today reinforced its commitment to customers in Thailand with the launch of its latest solution designed to make the country’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more globally competitive.

UPS’s eFulfillment programme gives online retailers in Thailand easy access to over 200 million customers in the U.S. and Canada by enabling convenient management of sales across multiple marketplaces and configurable delivery times through a single platform that handles storage, order processing, packaging and shipping.

“Thailand’s cross-border e-commerce growth rate of 25% a year1, coupled with the country’s consistently strong trading relationship with the United States2, demonstrates just one example of the huge potential for Thai SMEs looking to grow their customer base overseas,” said Russell Reed, Managing Director of UPS Thailand.

“SMEs are vital to the Thai economy, but we understand that things like listing items on marketplaces, then storing, packing, shipping and tracking them can take time away from focusing on the other important aspects of business growth. Registering for eFulfillment not only offers Thai e-commerce retailers access to a booming ecommerce market already worth over half a trillion U.S. dollars3, it also transfers all the heavy lifting to UPS, giving our customers more time to focus on what matters to them.”

The solution supports purchases and orders from 21 different marketplaces and web stores, including eBay, Wal-Mart, Etsy and Amazon, including Prime. The new platform augments UPS’s suite of custom e-commerce solutions designed to support small and medium-sized businesses.

Signing up is as easy as enrolling via a quick onboarding process and listing products. UPS, which is currently offering a risk free 60-day trial, handles storing the merchandise, packaging products once a sale is made and shipping from warehouses strategically located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Bloomington, California.

UPS began piloting the program in 2017 as a way to provide cutting-edge fulfillment and logistics options with access to multiple marketplaces. Pilot participant Tidal New York saw sales of its New York City-made flip flops more than triple during the pilot.

“To be able to sell across multiple stores and marketplaces is insanely attractive,” said Tidal New York Co-founder Tim Gibb. “The ability to focus on growth instead of managing our infrastructure allows us to pursue business that we wouldn’t otherwise have had the bandwidth to go after.”

According to the UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper study, shopping on marketplaces is almost universal. More than 96% percent of U.S. online shoppers report making a purchase at a marketplace. The study also shows that customers are demanding greater control than ever over how they receive their deliveries.

With this in mind, smart sellers try to sell on as many marketplaces as possible, and with the most configurable delivery options possible, to access the widest swath of potential customers.
