This year’s report is packed (see below), offering transparency in how UPS is moving our world forward by delivering what matters. New this year is the release of employment data by race, ethnicity, gender and job in the most recent EEO-1 Report from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Here are five things to know about our latest Sustainability Report:
- UPS remains committed to a transparent and inclusive governance structure. As just one example, with appointments made over the past year, the Board of Directors now includes 31% ethnically diverse members and 46% women; this better represents our workforce and our continued commitment to inclusion. We’re also proud to be led by our first female CEO – and one of the few female CEOs in the Fortune 500 – Carol B. Tomé.
- UPS will work to positively impact the lives of one billion people by 2040 through our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), volunteerism and charitable giving. - UPS set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, including fueling 40% of ground operations with alternative fuels by 2025. We currently deploy more than 13,000 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles worldwide and are committed to advancing more innovations in air and ground operations. - UPS has enhanced disclosure on ESG by publishing our first Task Force on Climate-related Disclosures (TCFD) Report for investors. This builds on last year’s release of our first logistics industry-specific Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards Table. We are also releasing our most recent EEO-1 Report from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission publicly for the first time.
- UPS is also improving social impact storytelling. We’re shifting away from formal progress reports that look backward and are instead publishing ESG stories in real time that showcase the difference UPSers are making. Through these stories, we hope to inspire others to get behind the shield and move our world forward together.
