Tim Loyd is a reserved, quiet kind of guy.

He’s not the kind of person who seeks the limelight, but when the limelight found him … he delivered.

In fact, one could say he suddenly became the biggest celebrity in the small town of Luverne, Alabama. That’s what happens when you appear on the 72nd Emmy Awards on ABC television as a guest presenter, one of several essential workers who appeared on the primetime special.

“It’s been an honor for me,” Tim said. “And mind blowing.”

As he puts it, this opportunity fell out of the sky when one of his customers in Luverne nominated him.

While the big moment came out of the blue, Tim’s connection to his customers has been built over time. Now, their appreciation for him is front and center.

“It’s like family down there, and they are happy for me,” he said. “The support they have shown has been the greatest thing.”

While fame is fleeting, family and feelings last forever.

Watch Tim present the nominees and announce the winner for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.”
