Urges Canada to quickly approve so all three economies may benefit

UPS® (NYSE: UPS), a global logistics provider and leading advocate for global trade, applauds President Trump and the U.S. Congress for completing U.S. ratification of an agreement that will modernize North American trade and provide more certainty in the market.

The US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) brings the trilateral agreement into the 21st century with provisions that will boost economic growth and promote job creation, said David Abney, Chairman and CEO of UPS. “Trade is a cornerstone of UPS’s operations and this trade agreement will support the participation of more UPS customers, including small and medium sized businesses, improve customs regulations, spur the growth of e-commerce and grow all three economies.”

UPS has been a vocal supporter of modernizing a North American free trade agreement and bringing it into the 21st-century via updated rules. We urge Canada to swiftly ratify the agreement so that businesses and consumers can take advantage of a modernized North American trade environment.
